Boc’s first children’s book finally makes its public debut. Sheesh, it’s about time, right?

Imagine the Day featuring Boc Chicken was written and drawn over ten years ago. As I worked on the first draft, I was absolutely certain that I would find literary representation immediately. I envisioned multiple publishing deals thrown at me. Complete, with healthy advances. There were going to be trips to New York, Chicago, and other big cities to meet with high-end agents and publishers.

Turns out, getting published is rather hard. And extremely competitive. When things didn’t happen quickly, the excitement of getting published gave way to lack of persistence and procrastination. I continued to daydream about my published book. But without the true effort to make it happen.

Well, I’ve finally gotten off my bum and found motivation again. A pandemic can do that for you. I built this website as the vehicle for putting Imagine the Day out into the world. I don’t know how much of the book I’ll post online. Maybe all of it. For now, I’m just excited to share a bit of it with you.

Meanwhile, I’m still in need of representation.

Imagine the Day is a tale of adventure through imagination. Bored with TV and video games, Boc sets out to entertain himself with a playful string of fantasies that captures the spirit of childhood itself. Using his imagination, Boc turns boredom into a fantastically fun day.

You didn’t know that you were waiting for it, but aren’t you glad that you can finally read it?! Well, part of it anyway.
